OFFICER DUTIES
COMMANDING OFFICER (elective office)
1. Presides over all club meetings and official functions.
2. Makes appointments to all staff positions.
3. Insures all interests of the organization run smoothly.
4. Insures all new members fully understand the club philosophy.
EXECUTIVE OFFICER (elective office)
1. Serves as temporary Commanding Officer in the absence of the Commander.
2. Has the additional duty of Training Officer.
3. Insures all organizational commitments are carried out.
4 Insures staff functions are carried out properly.
5. Is responsible for setting and maintaining the annual Event Schedule.
OPERATIONS OFFICER (elective office)
1. Has the additional duty of Purser (Club Treasurer).
2. Coordinates funds with Assistant Purser.
3. Keeps records of all official correspondence and business conducted at
club meetings.
4. To hold this position the member must have a computer compatible with
club information and programs.
SHIP CERTIFICATION COMMITTEE (3 appointees)
The Ship Certification Officers will be appointed after the January Club
Officer elections. Eligible officers will have been active participants in at
least 80% of the scheduled events the previous year. The Ship Certification
Committee will ensure all club vessels are constructed in compliance with Sections
3, 4 and 5. This committee must unanimously agree to a ship's certification
before it may enter any combat event. The appropriate forms are available from
the Records Officer. The Ship Certification Committee will be responsible for
maintaining the "SHIP DATABASE".
TECHNICAL OFFICER (elective office)
1. The Technical Officer will ensure all combat weapons systems of club
vessels are in full compliance with ship specifications, construction and
technical requirements. He will also ensure all developmental systems used meet
or exceed the safety requirements.
2. Maintain transmitter and receiver frequency assignment list, or deligate
to a Frequency Control Officer.
SAFETY OFFICER (elective office)
1. The Safety Officer is responsible to ensure all club combat vessels are
in full compliance with all safety requirements.
2. The Safety Officer is responsible to ensure all club events are conducted
in accordance Club rules.
ASSISTANT PURSER (appointed office)
1. Will assist the Operations Officer in performing purser duties.
2. Will maintain a second Queen's Own checking account when directed by the
Commanding Officer.
3.Responsible for collecting club dues.
4.Will maintain the current roster of membership dues status.
5. To hold this position the member must have a computer compatible with
club information and programs.
MESS OFFICER (appointed office)
1. The Mess Officer serves as assistant Technical Officer
2. The Mess Officer is responsible for organizing all club cook outs and
social functions.
3. The Mess Officer is responsible for determining menus, arranging for
cooks and provisioning scheduled events.
LAUNDRY AND MORALE OFFICER (elective office)
1. The Laundry and Morale Officer serves as Assistant Safety Officer.
2. The Laundry and Morale Officer is responsible for maintaining and
updating the Queen's Own Official Poultry Excrement Regulations.
3. The Laundry and Morale Officer is responsible for creating,organizing and
coordinating all outrageous activities the club deems necessary to undertake.
4. The Laundry and Morale Officer is permanently assigned as Aid-Decamp to
Lord Phinneus Fullofit Foghorn.
5. The Laundry and Morale Office is the only paid position in the
organization. At the completion of the yearly tour of duty the general
membership will provide fair and honest compensation for services rendered. The
general membership will decide what is the appropriate currency.
PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER FOR LIFE (delegated)
1. The Public Information Officer For Life will hold the position of
Minister of Propaganda.
2. The Public Information Officer For Life will hold the position of
Chairman of the Department of Disinformation.
EDITOR AND PUBLISHER (voluntary office)
1. Will publish the club newsletter, BILGE, in accordance with accepted
standards with regard to general input from the membership.
2. Will maintain the Club Roster (database) of addresses and telephone
numbers.
3. Will assist other club officers in preparation of all published club
documents and record keeping as may be required.
RULEBOOK OFFICER (voluntary office)
The Rulebook Officer will be responsible to maintain and publish the Queen's
Own Rulebook.
WEBMEISTER (voluntary office)
The Webb Master will be responsible to maintain the club's internet page.
