SHIP SPECIFICATIONS

SHIP CLASS DESIGNATION 1/72nd SCALE

The Ships Database as maintained by the Ship Certification Committee is the official document used to determining the Ship Class Designation.

721 CLASS

Any military vessel under 400 tons. Vessels common to this class are Motor Torpedo Boats, Motor Gun Boats and Patrol Boats. This class of vessel is allowed to carry 1 gun/20 rounds, or torpedoes, and bilge pump capacity of 0 (zero) gallons per hour.

NOTE: 721 Class Motor Torpedo Boats (MTB) armed with torpedoes are not automatically eligible to participate in combat events, the following criteria must be met:

1. The owner/operator must own and fight at least a 723 Class vessel.

2. For each sortie the 723 Class or larger vessel fights, the 721 Class MTB is allowed to fight one sortie.

3. Past sorties fought do not count. The MTB sortie log for the 723 Class or larger starts on the date the MTB passes certification.

4. It is the owners responsibility to keep an MTB sortie log and prove vessel eligibility to the event referee.

722 CLASS

Any warship over 400 tons but less than 1,199 tons. Vessels common to this class are Corvettes, Patrol Vessels and Submarine Chasers. This class of vessel is allowed to carry 1 gun/50 rounds and bilge pump capacity of 24 gallons per hour.

723 CLASS

Any Warship from 1,200 tons up to 2,799 tons. Vessels common to this class are Destroyer Escorts and Destroyers. This class of vessel is allowed to carry two guns/100 rounds and bilge pump capacity of 36 gallons per hour.

724 CLASS

Any warship from 2,800 tons, up to 3,999 tons. Vessels common to this class are Destroyers, Minelayers and Light Cruisers. This class of vessel is allowed to carry 3 guns/165 rounds and bilge pump capacity of 48 gallons per hour.

725 CLASS

Any warship from 4,000 tons up to 6,999 tons. Vessels common to this class are Light Cruisers . This class of vessel is allowed to carry 5 guns/375 rounds and bilge pump capacity of 90 gallons per hour.

725a CLASS

Any warship from 7,000 tons up to 9,999 tons. Vessels common to this class are Light Cruisers and Heavy Cruiser. This class of vessel is allowed to carry 6 guns/450 rounds and bilge pump capacity of 100 gallons per hour.

726 CLASS

Any Heavy Cruiser from 10,000 tons up to 19,999 tons. Vessel armed with six inch guns are allowed to carry 9 guns/450 rounds. Vessel armed with eight inch guns are allowed to carry 6 guns/450 rounds. Bilge pump capacity of 125 gallons per hour.

Armored Heavy Cruisers and Battle Cruisers in this weight class are not eligible, nor are monitors or other ships not considered to be high seas fleet type ships.

Aircraft Carriers of any size are allowed in this class. Armament and Construction sections contain special instructions.
